Overview:
The Chinese Weiqi CCA aims to cultivate students’ interest and passion for Chinese culture and values through the learning of a traditional Chinese mind game. The instructor uses a variety of teaching strategies to arouse and sustain students’ interest in playing the game and to improve their techniques and skills.
Students get to interact with their peers and learn from one another. Teachers and instructors also look into developing students’ social and emotional competencies through personalized interaction and monitoring.
Target Groups:
Offered to P3 to P6 students.
Objectives:
To teach students the basic rules of Weiqi in playing the game
To enable students (ranging from beginners to advanced players) to apply the various tactics and strategies learnt in different game situations
To develop student’s self-confidence and to inculcate values such as fair play, teamwork, resilience and self-discipline
